How we started
Fair-and-Healthy is a Fair Trade Project sponsored by FM Int’l Resources, a one-woman company which turned limited in 2008. It all started with its sole proprietor visiting the Fair Trade Fair and joining the ‘Down Down WTO’ Rally in Hong Kong in mid-December 2005. Fanny-Min Becker got to appreciate the healthy and yummy goodies from Filipino and Chinese Fair Trade suppliers. At the same time, she learnt about the plight of poor farmers and decided to help them through promoting Fair Trade. Since then, she has been pouring all her resources onto the cause and her sources of products have now extended to include Austra-lia (Vanuatu), India, Kenya, Peru, and Sri Lanka.
About Fair-and-Healthy (FMIR)
Fanny-Min’s home is her office as well as her warehouse. Together with her partner, Stephen Ma, Fanny-Min sells Fair-and-Healthy goodies from their home-office, via the Internet, at the Tai Po Farmers’ Market every Sunday, and occasionally at hospitals and other venues such as schools and universities, open air markets, Natural Products Expo Asia, Food Expo, FarmFest, or Fair Trade Fairs organised by Fair Trade Hong Kong & other organisations. A proper shop as outlet was finally opened in September 2011, MM Shop at Hung Hom Square and in 2014, a Global-Local Project was started to merge imported Fair Trade products with local body care product expertise.

Fair-and-Healthy’s involvements in Fair Trade go beyond purchasing directly from suppliers and selling directly to consumers. It is a founding member of Fair Trade Hong Kong. Fair-and-Healthy has given promotional talks on private and public occasions. It provides suppliers with advice and develops products together with them. Attempts have also been made to open overseas markets for them and help has been rendered during crisis and otherwise.
Healthy
Fair-and-Healthy products boast of Fair Trade healthy foods and body care products with no artificial colouring or preservatives, all exclusive heart choices of Fanny-Min, a persevering fighter for fairness and eager sharer of goodies that come her way. All Fair-and-Healthy items are healthy products from organisations practising Fair Trade. Each Fair-and-Healthy item you consume will be bringing a slice of better living to farmers and workers of less privileged countries.
